My Favorite Holiday is Valentines day. It is the day of love and a day with my favorite colors. I loooove pink & red!! Who does not want to think of sweet things like love and happiness for one day. Giving cards to those around you. Setting up your best friend with a prospective date. Cupids arrows are sure to hit someone this day. I am a romantic at heart.
Peppermint
Chanukah is my favorite holiday. Warm and cozy inside with family, friends and good food while it’s freezing outside. Or to sum up in one word – LATKES!!!
My favorite holiday is Chrismas. I love the smells, the sounds, the tastes (eggnog!), the gift giving,t he late night wrapping my husband and I are doing on Christmas eve, and the joy of happiness there is. Its just really the day that everything in life gets forgotten for a few hours and you just have fun.
My favorite holiday is Passover….As a Christian, it holds even more special meaning as I celebrate how Christ has brought us out of bondage of sin and delivered us from eternal death. The actions of the Seder (meal, prayers, fellowship) are a beautiful tribute to the love of God and Christ!
My favorite holiday? I would have to say with my children scattered all across the country and the globe, it would have to be ANY day that we could all be together. Most of the time, that is either Christmas, Thanksgiving, or the Fourth of July. As far as actual holidays go, my favorite used to be Christmas, but now with 3 children in the military, Veteran’s Day and Independence Day are closer to my heart. I do love Christmas and Thanksgivine, as well as Easter.
my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, it’s so laid back and fun to get together with the family and give thanks!
TOugh one. I would probably say my favorite holiday is ROsh Hashanah. I love the davening and it is a great way to start the year
My favorite holidays are Christmas and Passover. Christmas because of the warmth of the holiday spirit, and Passover, because it is a reminder of God’s faithfulness, in so many ways.
My favorite holiday is probably the Fourth of July. I like it because it’s during the summer so I can spend it outside with friends and family. It’s relaxing for me because we don’t have lots of family over, so I can just relax and enjoy the nice weather outside. Of course, I enjoy celebrating our nation’s independence….and I love the fireworks!!
I love Sukkos, especially now that I can celebrate it in warm weather and not have my soup freeze as soon as it’s served. I love sitting in sukkot made of different materials and seeing how everyone’s is decorated so nicely.
I love Succos! My children are old enough to help out with the building and decorating of the sukkah. Their excitement is infectious. In Florida, we never know what the humidity level will be during this time of year. So the specualtion of what the weather will be leading up to the holiday is exciting! In the evening, we enjoy sitting outside (hopefully not sweating) and seeing the stars and the occasional owl is a blast. The moon usually puts on a nice show too.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, because that is when the whole family gets together. The whole family and lots of good food makes for a perfect holiday for me.
My favorite holiday is actually Arbor Day. Weird, isn’t it? My daughters and I read all about Sterling Morton and the origins of Arbor Day one year. Another year we studied all about trees. Their are few expectations placed on Arbor Day by the commercial entities so it is very relaxed and unhurried. Plus, it’s a great day to set aside the press of life to simply lay down under a tree and think about it’s Creator and the blessings we have each day as fruits of trees. Then, have a picnic or tea with your family in the shade of a tree.
My favorite holiday is Halloween. I like that it has not been as politicized or tied to any mainstream religion and is still just a fun silly day. I enjoy “being” someone else for a day and LOVE seeing all the kids come out at night for trick or treat. Just a fun day.
Winter Solstice is my favorite holiday, especially if its a clear cold night. If you can see the moon and stars that night and feel the cold rush into your lungs, you know you are alive. Its just a very peaceful holiday.
I have two favorite holidays: Sukkot and Pesach (Passover). I find that both, in their own unique ways, require such preparation that their arrival is a nice peaceful joy that allows for a closeness with Gd like none other. It is also a nice time to spend with family, friends, and community – at meals and synagogue alike.
My favorite holiday is New Years day. It’s a time when my family stay up together and at the stroke of midnight, we say prayers together.
Easter because I love that time of year!
My favorite holiday is Shavuot because of the Torah study and food!
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love to give thoughtful gifts to the people I care about. It is a festive and happy time of the year.
My fav. holiday is definitely PURIM! What a happy day, lots of eating and drinking, and thanking G-d for the amazing miracle which happened on that day!! Its the only holiday we will still be celebrating after the coming of Messiah, may we merit it to be soon in our days!
Hands down Easter and Holy Week prior. Why? Well I was received into the Catholic Church four years ago this coming Easter Vigil, so obviously that’s a very special time of year for me. Also, as to the Holy Week prior, I had a stroke roughly a decade and a half ago and so identify with Jesus on Good Friday especially. We have a kinship, you could say.
thanksgiving is my favorite becuz there are no expectations except good food and fellowship. no gifts to stress over!
I love Purim. I love creating costumes with the kids. I love the Purim plays. I love the fun of it. My youngest daughter was born on Purim (couldn’t stay for the megillah reading because I had gone into labor), so it’s even more fun now.
I love Sukkos – its my favorite time of year, i love being outside and connecting to Hashem through nature.
i think i love christmas. i love the decorations and the excited looks on my brothers and sisters faces. they love putting up the tree and the garlands. on christmas eve we all gather together and read the christmas story. its a fun family time that will not last for long as all the kids grow up and scatter around with their own familes.
chanuka, family time!
I think my favorite holiday is Chanukah. It seems like such a low pressure holiday and my kids sing lots of songs and I make lots of goodies and the weather is cold and crisp.
It’s a tossup between Christmas and Easter, honestly… either loses its extreme significance without the other. Lots of people are born, but only One rose again… then again, He couldn’t have risen again without being born first
My favorite Holiday would either be Yom Kippur, the day of atonement or Thanksgiving… Christmas is in there too!
I love Christmas, it’s wonderful to be around those you love and there’s really good food.
I love Sukkot. My oldest son had his brit milah on the 1st day of Sukkot (5 years ago…) and my 3 year old was born on Shimini Atzeret. The whole week is very special for our whole family!
Hard choice, but I would have to choose Sukkot. Watching my kids put up the Sukkah with my husband, then we all decorate it….and of course sitting down to amazing food…friends…a Sukkot Sedar..at a beautiful table ..and of course taking turns shaking our Luluv and Estrog!! Not fair…its soooo hard to choose!!lol
Purim is my favorite holiday! I love thinking up fun costumes for my kids and really creative themed Mishloach Manot.
For my own spiritual needs, I LOVE the Yamim Noraim. I know that is not a popular answer. But I have always been moved by the powerful liturgy and the stirring music. Not to mention the idea that God will accept us…mistakes and all…if we do real tshuvah.
As for my family, I’d have to say Sukkot. We LOVE SUkkot! ALl the family time. ANd good food. ANd friends.
I love Christmas. It reminds us of God’s gift of a Savior.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love to eat all the food that is served on Thanksgiving and it’s nice to be with family when everyone is relaxed and having a good time.
I love New Years (even though it may not be considered a “traditional holiday.” My fiance is in the military and he always gets time off around New Years, so it’s a tradition for us to spend it together.
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love spending time with family, eating good food and opening gifts.
My favourite holiday is Christmas because you get to spend time with your family and listen to Christmas carols and eat lots of good food. Also, you get presents!
There’s nothing quite like that Christmas-y feeling!
Pesach- I love the family traditions!
My favorite holiday (or Eid) would have to be Ramadan. During Ramadan, Muslims are required to fast from sunrise to sunset and it is most spiritual month that a Muslim can have. There is a lot of time to remember the poor, the hungry, and the blessings we recieve from Allah.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love reflecting on God’s blessings to me and the many things I am thankful for. I also the great food and getting together with family.
I’d have to pick 2 – Thanksgiving & Chanukah – that’s when the family can all get together. It’s easier than some of the other Chagim because we don’t have to worry as much about where people are going to stay since we can all drive to our destinations.
Sukkot! I love spending time outside and in the peace of the sukkah, inviting family and friends over, decorating the sukkah and trying to make it more fun than the year before, knowing that Hashem is with us and protecting us! And best of all I love that it is a whole week!!
I love Channukah…The festival of light, of our soul’s illumination!!I remeber mi first Channukah in Israel,I came out of work, in a religious place, and was allready night,so every window, every entrance in every building were with a channukiah, the first night. It warmed my heart to see so many jews remembering such a nice holiday,I saw also from a window dozens of yeshiva bachurim, dancing in the central hall in their yeshiva, singing with all their heart…Till now, I think is the most beautiful holiday…
Chanukah!!!
My favorite holiday is New Years cause I get the chance to gather round with my all family plus it’s summer here =)
My favorite holiday is Pesach, our extended family always gets together and its so much fun to celebrate Pesach!
My favorite holiday is Chanukah. I love buying just the perfect gift for those I love and knowing how happy they will be when the open it.
Chanukah – it’s warm and cozy, I love everything with potatoes – especially latkes, and I have to admit, I’m kind of a pyromaniac!
My favorite holiday? All Hallow’s Eve (Halloween to most, Samhain to a lot of others including myself). It’s not for the candy, not for the gore or horror marathons on television but for the original intent of the day. A day to reflect on ancestral roots, the harvest past, present and future. A time to reflect on the year and it’s fruitful endeavors. A time to honor family, togetherness and to prepare for the winter slumber. A time to offer what is to come and honor the blessings of what has already come. Admittedly I do enjoy my children’s smiles and excited energy during this time, it reminds me that the slumber of winter is only a drop in the bucket and the renewal of life is closer (Spring) than it seems.
Simchas Torah for the singing, dancing and fun.
I would say that my favourite holy day is Pesach. It is a foreshadowing of Yeshua’s return and gives us a hope for the future. It is a time when we cleanse ourselves of all of our sinfulness and become new in Yeshua again.
Fav holiday Purim ofcorse! A mitzvah to be happy? Sounds easy but for most of us can be hard. I love the pure joy of the day when we can be extatic and free to feel pure celebration and joy.
we celebrate Christmas and it’s my favorite holiday. i enjoy the food, fun and family get togethers. clallen at ntin dot net
Shavuos….we got the Ten Commandments and we can have as much cheesecake as we want!
i love chanukah. snow outside, warm inside eating good fried food and watching the candles burn.
New Year’s Day is my favorite. It’s quite and peaceful and it’s a great day to start the year over and get back on track.
Simchat Torah…it’s a great way to celebrate our special gift!
My favorite holiday would have to be Sukkot – I LOVE decorating the sukkkah.
My favorite holiday has to be thanksgiving because you get together with a lot of family members who live far away and wont get to see other wise. Everyone is happy and we all come together to celebrate a great holiday, and of course, eat.
Sukkos, everything is so fresh and new, and we get to start the year off with simcha!
I love Shavous lovely weather good cheesecake and best of all Kabolas Hatorah
My favorite holiday is Christmas because Christmas is a time of giving and it’s fun baking with my Mom and seeing relatives. I like receiving and giving gifts, too!
My favorite holiday is Halloween because I get to dress up in all different costumes and go to a Halloween party and see everyone else’s creative costumes, and I love candy. My favorite is Starbursts.
My favorite holiday is Purim, because I love all the preperations and the colorful Mishlochey Manot & costumes!
